Polynomial Operations

Master adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing polynomials

📊

Quick Summary

A polynomial is an expression made of terms that have: variables with non-negative integer exponents and real number coefficients.

Example: 4x³ - 2x + 7 is a polynomial.

Not a polynomial: x⁻², 1/x, √x (because of negative/fractional exponents or variables in denominators).

⚠️ Degree = highest exponent. This matters for classification and graphing!
